Envision for the communities of tomorrow

The theme challenges tomorrow’s architects to imagine and create structures and spaces that will not only meet the physical needs of the future but also address the social and psychological well-being of its inhabitants, as well as its environmental and global impact in general.

Remember to consider:

  • Creativity: Does your design portray originality in its execution?

  • Efficiency: Does your design offer practicality and have the ability to drive commercial value?

  • Comfort: Does your design facilitate the ease of use for its inhabitants?

  • Sustainability: Does your design possess the ability to transcend time?

  • Purpose: Does your designsuccessfully fulfl a need? Is it purposeful?

  • Heart for the Community: Does your design cater to the surrounding communities’ needs?

  • Green Design: Is your design made up of sustainable and eco-friendly elements which help preserve the wonders and beauty of Mother Earth?

Design Concept Statement

Your write-up (with a maximum of 1,000 words) will be the first component on the presentation board to be reviewed by the judges.

It needs to answer the following:

Your Design Process

  1. What is your futureproof design concept aiming to solve and how does it benefit the communities and societies around it?

  2. How would you envision the ecological, sociological, and technological aspects that may contribute to the wellbeing of humanity?

  3. What is your design’s impact on the environment based on its concept, materials, maintenance, energy usage, and water and waste management?

  4. In your opinion, what is the one key component that must exist in futureproof designs?

Your Research Process

  • What was your research method like?

  • Who was your main source of information during your research?

  • What questions did you consider during your research?

  • Was the research method you used sound?

  • What did you learn from your research fndings?

  1. Your content must be well organised and appropriately elaborated, with a succinct explanation for the audience’s understanding.

  2. You may present it in table form.

  3. Your design concept statement should consist of a maximum of 1000 words.
